002 - When two queens link up to maximize their joint slay

When I first tried the Hasselblad X1D II with the 45P ages ago, I wasn’t too impressed. I’m not a big fan of autofocus, and I’ve always preferred manual focusing. The 45P’s autofocus is a bit slow and clunky compared to my own method of twisting and turning the lens.

This champagne problem is solved by adapting my Leica M lenses to the Hasselblad X system. I’m sure purists will cringe at such a thing, but until someone decides to graciously gift me a XCD 55mm F/2.5 V (at only $3,500 USD used!), this will keep me snapping happily with this particular camera.

Here’s a quick little jaunt with the combo at Green-Wood Cemetery during a late Autumn golden hour.

X-Pan crop mode is heaps of fun, but ultimately useless since I have to do the actual crop myself in post anyway

Yes, there’s vignetting, but if it really bothered me I’d edit it out accordingly
